What is a FEMTO Unlock?
Currently there is only one unlock option available in the world for 06/2020 and newer BMW cars and FEMTO is the saving grace to be able to pursue tuning on 06/2020 and newer cars. All vehicles with a production date after 06/2020 require the Femto unlock for any sort of tuning.

What is a DME Unlock?
Additionally, a DME Unlock of MEVD17.x.x and MG1 series computers enables OBD based tuning. An unlocked DME is required to use Boomod3, MHD and other OBD based tuning platforms/flashers.

A few things to note

• Once you ship your DME to us, we will facilitate the specifics of the Unlock with FEMTO
• We will pack and send your DME to FEMTO in Finland where they will perform the DME unlock once you ship your DME to us.
• Once we receive your DME back from FEMTO we will send your DME back to you. 
• Then you're free to connect your OBD flasher and begin tuning. 
• This whole process takes approximately 3-4 weeks.
